Hi Makers!
It’s almost here! The Baton Rouge Maker Faire is Saturday, October 7th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.! Here’s some information to help you for the day of the Faire.
Setup is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. When you arrive, check in at either the rear loading dock or the front of the plaza. At the check-in table, you’ll receive a swag bag and be directed to your booth’s location.
The rear loading dock can be accessed through the BREC Independence Park Theatre parking lot. You can unload under the loading dock or in the adjacent gravel lot. If your booth is outside on the plaza, please use the Main Library’s front parking lot off of Goodwood Blvd. You may unload your vehicle next to the plaza. Whenever you are finished unloading, please move your vehicle so that others may unload! There will be large flatbed hand trucks and smaller push carts available in both locations.
Plan on having your booth ready for visitors by 9:50 a.m. There will be snacks and water throughout the day for makers. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide lunch this year; however, there will be three food trucks at the Faire, if you would like to purchase a meal.
Please keep our Library beautiful! If you would like to hang things on the wall, you must use a non-marking option such as blue painter’s tape or gaffing tape.
We are happy to assist you throughout the day! Look for the Maker Faire team in hot neon pink Maker Faire shirts. Library staff will also be available to help, along with volunteers from the Baton Rouge High Key Club and Beta Club who will be wearing their club-affiliated t-shirts.
The Maker Faire ends at 5 p.m. and the Library closes to the public at 6 p.m., so if someone is coming to assist you in packing up your booth, please ask them to arrive before 6 p.m. Hand trucks and push carts will again be available.
