DRUM CIRCLE AND INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO 

  

Join the Kids’ Orchestra team for a drum circle with various percussion instruments! They’ll also have an instrument petting zoo where you can try your hand at things like a violin, trombone, clarinet, and more! Teachers will be on hand to assist.

MAKING MUSIC WITH REPURPOSED OBJECTS

& HANDMADE ELECTRONICS

 

Erin Demastes is an experimental composer, sound artist, and Ph.D. candidate at LSU. Join her as she performs and talks about her research making music with unusual materials.

LADY CHOPS 

Lady Chops who performed with the Off-Broadway show STOMP will host her Rock the Rhythm Bucket Drumming Workshop for ages 8 and up. She is also bringing her one-woman, interactive drumming show “Drum Roll Please” for all ages to the Maker Faire Plaza Stage!

ALGORAVE LOUISIANA – LIVE MUSICAL CODING

 

Algorave is a music-making performance using live-coding, where coders produce dance music live in front of the audience while projecting their screen for the audience to see how the music is made.

MOBILE RECORDING STUDIO 

Baton Rouge Music Studios is launching the JAM BUS, a mobile recording studio for all ages. Attendees can record music or a mini podcast, and receive digital copies. Instruments and karaoke tracks are provided for a fun, interactive experience.

THE ACADIAN CIRCUS 

The Acadian Circus brings aerial, fire and flow artists to the stage! Enjoy breathtaking aerials alongside mesmerizing ground performances featuring rope dart, staves, and the cyr wheel. Come see their performances and say hello!
